IMPORTANT UPDATE - On the 30th October 2024 The U.K. Government issued an important update that has an impact on the use of recycled resin in Flexible Packaging films. Whilst no specific implementation date has been announced it is clear that the Government now accepts the concept of Mass Balance in regards to the supply of recycled resin used in recycled (PCR) films.
NUFFP are therefore delighted to announce that we can offer a range of films that are accredited under the ISCC certification scheme using a Mass Balance approach. We are also signed up members of the ISCC scheme and are “licensed” to offer these products.
Products using ISCC certified Mass Balanced resin are now covered under the terms of the Plastic Tax.
We are able to offer a range of PET lidding films from a new manufacturer from 14 mic - 52 mics. Recycled content is available from 30 to 90%.
There is a great range of lidding products available with the following combinations and capabilities:
Heat Sealable
Sealable Peelable
Anti-fog
Corona treated
Chemically treated
There is a good supply of recycled PET resin and we have access to 1000’s of tonnes of recycled product.
Should you require further information about any of the above films, then please fill in the form below…
Whilst there are established supply lines for PCR PET resin, PCR BOPP resin supply is in its infancy to some degree and there is less volume available.
Therefore we have a more limited supply of BOPP films made with chemical PCR resin.
These films divert resin derived from fossil fuels with oil derived from chemically recycled post-consumer waste.
It is possible to supply PCR BOPP with 30 to 90% PCR content.
This is done using the mass balance approach (ISCC Plus certified). These films have the same mechanical, physical, and optical properties as their fossil-fuel counterparts.
IMPORTANT UPDATE 30th Oct 2024 - ISCC Plus certified products are now covered under the the terms of the UK Plastic Tax.
Availability is now improved.
Our main Bio-Based BOPP option is derived from used cooking oil (UCO) and is sold under the ISCC Plus accreditation scheme (of which we are a partner) Availability is excellent and content can range from 30 to 90%.
All variations of BOPP film are available with UCO recycled content.
Availability is excellent.
